The Outspoken Bean opens up the Moorish American Story

Emanuelee “Outspoken” Bean is a performance poet, compassionate mentor and dedicated educator. He is the project coordinator for Writers in the Schools’ Performance program, and serves as the lead coach and mentor for the Meta-Four Houston teen slam poetry team, which performed at the Space City Grand Slam at Discovery Green in April 2015. Bean created four history making poems for the Moro Americana Festival had earlier this year!

The Second Coming of a Renaissance

Moro Americana touched down in Houston and was billed as the first cultural renaissance in 90+ years after Noble Drew Ali hoisted the Ancient Flag of the Moorish on American Shores. In honor of the Moorish American community Solel International presented headliners including Eclipse the Earthstar, Vockah Redu (fresh off his Come to the Sand Dune tour), a zydeco performance by Moorish-American/Mexican artist Ruben Moreno, and entertainer Hotline.
